Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick and the County’s Fire and Parks & Recreation Departments are teaming up to host a free pancake breakfast and fire station open house and free “Hoppin’ Down the Bonnie Trail” egg hunt event on Saturday, April 1.

The pancake breakfast and open house will be held at Fire Station 20, 5865 Judson St., near Nellis and Lake Mead boulevards, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pancakes will be served while supplies last. Egg hunts, along with games, crafts and bounce houses, will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside Bob Price Park at 2050 Bonnie Lane next door to the Cora Coleman Center and the fire station. Staff and volunteers from the Cora Coleman Senior Center will serve pancakes at the fire station while supplies last.

“We always get a great turnout for our annual pancake breakfast and egg hunt, and this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever,” Commissioner Kirkpatrick said.  “We appreciate all the teamwork with our Fire Department and Parks and Recreation staff and community partners to make this a celebration that is fun for all ages.”

The fire station open house will include “jaws of life” demonstrations used to remove victims from car crashes, tours of the Fire Department’s fire prevention safety house, and informational about drowning prevention and other safety tips. Participating agencies include Metro, Child Seekers and Mercy Air. “We always enjoy hosting this annual event and inviting the community to visit our fire station,” said Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck. “It’s also a great time of year to remind families about the importance of water safety now that spring is upon us.”

Egg Hunt Registration & Age Time Slots: On-site registration for the egg hunt event opens at 9:15 a.m. on event day. Participants are asked to bring a basket to collect their eggs. Time slots will be offered in 15-minute increments for different age groups starting with the youngest kids first. Age groups include 2 to 4 years old (10 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.); 5 to 6 years old (10 a.m., 11:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m.); 7-8 years old (10:20 a.m. and 11:40 a.m.); 9 to 10 years old (10:40 a.m. and noon); 11 to 12 years old (11 a.m.); 13-17 years old (12:20 p.m.); and age 18 and over (12:40 p.m.)
