Dina Titus, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nevada’s 1st District, recently shared her concerns on various issues through a series of posts. Titus has been serving in Congress since 2013, following her tenure in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in 1950 in Thomasville, Georgia, Titus now resides in Las Vegas. She graduated from the College of William & Mary in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
On April 7, 2025, Titus voiced her concern over the revocation of student visas for four UNLV international students. She stated, "I am deeply concerned that four UNLV international students have had their student visas revoked, disrupting their educations. I will be seeking answers as to why from the proper authorities and monitoring this situation closely."
The following day, on April 8, 2025, Titus commented on a contentious decision by the Supreme Court. She expressed her concerns regarding the decision’s impact, saying, "It is not shocking, but I am deeply concerned that the Supreme Court has sided with @POTUS to prolong the displacement of thousands of employees at six federal agencies. I will continue to fight against this assault on our federal workforce in Congress."
Later on the same day, Titus addressed broader political and cultural concerns in her #TitusTalk, focusing on perceived threats to cultural institutions. She stated, "Today’s #TitusTalk: Standing up to Co-Presidents Trump’s and Musk’s attacks on our cultural institutions."
