Did Clark County School District students fail their science CRT in 2022-23 school year?

Of the 26,022 Clark County School District students who took part in the Criterion Referenced Test (CRT) in the 2022-23 school year, 81.3% did not meet science benchmarks, according to the Nevada Accountability Portal.

This is 1.4% above the statewide average of 79.9%.

Clark County School District roughly covers schools within Clark County and has a main office in Las Vegas.

The number of students who failed to meet expectations in the subject rose the previous school year.

In Clark County School District, most of the students who fell below proficiency were at the lowest performance level.

Throughout the district, Sunrise Mountain High School had the highest percentage of students scoring below science benchmarks on their CRT.

Criterion-Referenced Tests (CRTs) are used to evaluate students' proficiency in science, measuring their performance against state academic standards.

Nevada's educational system ranked third-lowest in the U.S. for educational quality, student outcomes, and overall school safety, only ahead of Louisiana and Arizona, according to an analysis from the World Population Review.
