The city of Las Vegas is seeking public input on the design of new buildings in the Historic Westside neighborhood. The aim is to ensure that development reflects the area's history while preparing for its future. This initiative follows a grant awarded in 2023 by the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial, which funded the creation of a Historic Westside Design Guidebook.

The guidebook serves as a resource for neighborhoods undergoing revitalization. It does not impose regulations through zoning or review boards but rather encourages property owners and developers to create designs that are sensitive to both historical context and current needs.

A community engagement meeting will be held on April 24, 2024, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Historic Westside School located at 330 W. Washington Ave. Residents are invited to attend and share their opinions on community development guidelines.
