City offers free composting program with information sessions

The city has announced the launch of a free composting program aimed at encouraging residents to engage in sustainable practices. Those who attend an information session and are city residents will receive a complimentary composter. Although all classes have currently reached capacity, interested individuals can join the waitlist by calling 702-229-6899 or emailing sustainability@lasvegasnevada.gov.

The scheduled information sessions will take place at various locations:

- Historic Westside School, 330 W. Washington Ave., on March 14 at 11 a.m.

- Centennial Hills YMCA Community Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, on March 23 at 11 a.m.

- Doolittle Active Adult Center, 1905 N. J St., on April 9 at 11 a.m.

- Veterans Memorial Community Center, 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive, on April 18 at 5 p.m.

- Veterans Memorial Community Center, 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive, on May 2 at 11 a.m.

- Howard Lieburn Active Adult Center, 6230 Garwood Ave., on May 16 at 10:30 a.m.
