The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees held a meeting on August 23, 2024, during which several significant agenda items were discussed.
In Agenda Item 2.29, the Board approved two bill draft requests (BDRs) for submission ahead of the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session. These BDRs aim to address various legislative needs. Further details and related documents can be accessed online.
Agenda Item 3.01 focused on the ongoing search for a new superintendent. The Board received an update from Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates regarding responses to the superintendent search survey and materials from focus groups and interview protocols workshops. The firm reported receiving over 12,000 responses to the online survey and noted that more than 800 individuals have registered for 32 scheduled focus groups. To meet community interest, the Board approved an additional 17 virtual focus groups. The Superintendent Search Survey remains open until September 3, 2024.
Additionally, it was reiterated that all content and images used on CCSD’s site are owned by CCSD and may only be used without permission for journalism, news, and educational purposes. Any other uses require written authorization from CCSD.
