Open for Business: Lip Smacking Foodie Tours

9

With so many great places to dine in Las Vegas, it can be overwhelming deciding where to eat. This is where Lip Smacking Foodie Tours comes in. The company offers guests a fun and innovative way to experience new restaurants and explore downtown.

“It’s a fabulous experience,” says Donald Contursi, President of Lip Smacking Foodie Tours. “People often say it’s the highlight of their entire trip.”

Each tour is led by an engaging expert tour guide, who points out under-the-radar, fascinating sights and shares intriguing lore about the city along the way.

“A lot of times people don’t know how Las Vegas all began or how the Fremont Street Experience came to be,” says Contursi.  “We go into all of that history as well as explaining downtown revitalization and the Downtown Project, so guests get a lot more out of the tour than just eating.”

Guests visit three restaurants on the tour; Carson Kitchen, Therapy and 7th and Carson, where they are treated like VIPs and taken to the best tables to enjoy a specially curated, pre-set menu of 3 to 4 dishes with an optional beverage package.

“Our guide is really cool and it’s so fun to try different food and drinks in the different restaurants.” says Canadian tourist Shanelle Bandoe. She signed up for the tour because she wasn’t sure what restaurants to visit. “Being from Canada, I would never have known to visit these restaurants, so I’m glad we did this tour.”

Shaele Hanson is also glad she did the tour. Also from Canada and a small business owner, Hanson has been to Las Vegas a few times and always returns to the downtown area. “We love the downtown area, we really like the culture of it and the history,” says Hanson.  “It’s nice to see small businesses come together and we really love to support, so it’s great.”
