The itinerary for Las Vegas Days has been revealed by the city.
According to a news release by the Las Vegas government, the Las Vegas Days Parade will run north on Fourth Street from Gass to Stewart avenues and will begin at 10 a.m. on May 14. The parade will feature high school marching bands, Zelzah Shrine Flivvers, horses, alpacas, various dance crew teams, car clubs and an Elvis impersonator in a pink Cadillac.
“We are excited to add the Las Vegas Days Festival and the latest documentary about our history to our celebration,” said Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman. “From the marching bands to the beautiful horses and the floats, this parade is for the entire community. I look forward to seeing families lining Fourth Street to view the outdoor spectacle, enjoying the festival and then learning more about our history.”
Interested revelers can also attend the Las Vegas Days festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Centennial Plaza on Fifth Street School. A brewery and wine garden will be available for adults and the DISCOVERY Children's Museum and The Neon Museum will have activities for teenagers and children, according to the release that also noted that the festival was free.
The Las Vegas government reported that music will include the city’s own Nashville Renegades, led by Ben Hale and Zack Ryan, along with Frankie Moreno and his 10-piece band closing out the festivities. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will have an exhibit featuring artwork and photos and food trucks will be on hand to serve hungry attendees. The live entertainment will be aired by radio stations Sunny 106.5 and 95.5 The Bull.
