“Celebrating Women’s History Month” airs throughout March on Clark County Television (CCTV) and its three sit-down interviews are available on demand at www.YouTube.com/ClarkCountyNV.
The half-hour show, moderated by Molly Sullivan, features:
- Diana Bennett, a second-generation casino operator, renowned philanthropist, and one of the most effective and respected executives in the gaming industry. She serves as chairman of the board and co-founder of Paragon Gaming. In 2017, Bennett was inducted into the American Gaming Association Hall of Fame with her inspirational journey beginning 50 years prior;
- Activist Ruby Duncan, who organized a protest march on the Las Vegas Strip in 1971 after the state of Nevada cut about 75 percent of welfare aid to woman with children. Duncan ignited a movement for welfare rights for the impoverished and was the co-founder of Operation Life, which sought to bring medical services and meaningful jobs to Historic West Las Vegas; and
- Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick, the second woman in Nevada history to serve as Speaker of the Nevada Assembly and one of the only women in the United States to serve as Speaker of a legislative chamber. She is also the only woman serving on the Clark County Commission currently.
