City of Las Vegas issued the following announcement on September 20.

City To Auction Off New Pawnbroker Business License

Auction To Be Held Oct. 25, 2021

The city of Las Vegas will auction off a new pawnbroker business license Monday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor at City Hall, 495 S. Main St.

Those interested in bidding must register for the auction between at 8 and 10:15 a.m. Oct. 25. This will be the 25th pawnbroker license issued for the city of Las Vegas. No new pawnbroker licenses will be available until the city’s population reaches 700,000. Currently the city has a population of about 670,000.

The opening bid will be $60,000, and a $10,000 deposit is required at the time of registration.
