County of Clark issued the following announcement.
Clark County will extend operating hours for two of its outdoor water parks on August 14, 21, and 28. The Hollywood Water Park will be open from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the Desert Breeze Water Park will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Regular admission fees of $3 for ages 18 and up, $2 for ages 17 and under, and $1 for ages 55 and over apply.

County water parks include twisting slides, gushing fountains, play areas, and shallow pools for young swimmers. Pool rules include proper swim attire required, children aged 8 and under must always be within arm’s reach of an adult, only Coast Guard-approved flotation devices allowed, no alcohol or glass containers allowed, and facility occupancy limits are enforced. Clark County is a partner in the Southern Nevada Child Drowning Prevention Coalition’s annual drowning prevention campaign. Information is available on the Southern Nevada Health District’s website at: www.GetHealthyClarkCounty.org. The following three steps are recommended to prevent drownings: Patrol by designating adults as water watchers; protect by installing barriers like fencing between your home and pools and spas; and prepare by enrolling children in swimming lessons and creating a water safety plan for your family if an emergency happens.
