Southern Nevada seniors aged 50 and older are encouraged to participate in the Celebrating Life! free juried art competition. The deadline for entry applications is April 24, 2025.

In honor of Older Americans Month in May 2025, the city of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Arts Commission are organizing this annual fine arts event, now in its 25th year. It aims to acknowledge the skills of Southern Nevada artists aged 50 and above.

Entries will be accepted from April 28-30 by appointment at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, located at 800 Brush St. Interested participants can make an appointment to submit their artwork or call 702.229.ARTS (2787). Each artist is allowed to submit one work for jury without any entry fee.

A public reception and awards ceremony titled "meet-the-artists" will take place on May 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Charleston Heights Arts Center. Awards include $500 for Best of Show, with additional prizes of $250, $150, $100, and honorable mentions in each category.

Eligible categories cover various fine art media including Drawing and Pastel; Painting (oil and acrylic); Mixed Media; Photography; Ceramic; Sculpture (non-ceramic); Watercolor and Gouache. Submissions must be display-ready, created within the last three years, and not previously exhibited in a Celebrating Life! show.

Robin Stark, Fine Arts Professor at the College of Southern Nevada, will jury this year's exhibition which runs from May 29 through September 11, 2025, at the Charleston Heights Arts Center Ballroom.

Artists whose works are not selected for Celebrating Life! can opt to display them in the Salon des Refusés exhibit at the Charleston Heights Arts Center Gallery during the same period.

Entry forms along with size/weight limitations and submission guidelines are available online. For more information contact via phone or email as provided.
