Dina Titus, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, expressed her condolences and support in response to recent tragic events and ongoing community needs through a series of tweets.
On January 30, 2025, Titus addressed a devastating mid-air collision involving an American Airlines regional jet and a U.S. Army helicopter over the Potomac River. She stated: "I am deeply saddened by the tragic mid-air collision of an American Airlines regional jet and a U.S. Army helicopter over the Potomac River. We do not yet know how many of the 60 passengers may have lost their lives. I pray there are survivors."
Later that day, Titus shared further sorrow upon learning about the outcome of the crash: "I’m devastated to learn there are no survivors of last night’s tragic air crash. My heart goes out to those who had loved ones on board the two aircraft and the brave first responders who rushed to the scene."
On January 31, 2025, Titus shifted focus to community resources for families navigating immigration policy changes in Southern Nevada.
