A flood control project is scheduled to commence on Charleston Boulevard in May 2025. The initiative aims to install new storm drains and will extend from Maryland Parkway to Commerce Street, with an expected duration of two years. Despite the ongoing construction, businesses along Charleston and within the 18b Las Vegas Arts District will continue their operations.

The project also includes enhancements to sewer and water infrastructure, as well as updates to pavement and pedestrian areas. The southern, eastbound lanes on Charleston will experience significant impact, leading to lane restrictions. East and westbound traffic will be redirected into the northern lanes of Charleston. Motorists intending to access businesses on the south side of Charleston are advised to consider alternative routes via Main or Commerce streets, Las Vegas Boulevard, or Maryland Parkway.

Further details about this project will be provided as it progresses through the bid process, contract award, and notice to proceed with construction.
