The city of Las Vegas is hosting a variety of Halloween events for residents and visitors throughout October. The activities are designed to cater to all age groups, from children to seniors, offering both free and low-cost options.
One of the highlighted events is Barktoberfest, scheduled for Saturday, October 5, at the Veterans Memorial Community Center. It invites families and their pets to participate in a dog costume contest and other pet-friendly activities. According to the event details, "Prizes will be awarded for Best Duo/Group, Most Original, Cutest, Funniest and Scariest costumes."
For those aged 50 and above, the “We’re Dying to Feed You” Luncheon on Wednesday, October 9, offers a themed meal at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes for an afternoon of entertainment with neighbors.
Families can enjoy Halloween Family Fun Night on Friday, October 11, also at the Veterans Memorial Community Center. The event features pumpkin decorating and a screening of “The Great Pumpkin.” Meanwhile, Bruce Trent Park will host Ward 2 Trunk or Treat & Halloween Movie in the Park on the same evening with a showing of "Hocus Pocus."
Additional events include a Halloween Garland Craft Workshop for seniors on October 17 at Centennial Hills Active Adult Center. Teens have their own outing planned with "Teens On The Go," involving visits to a pumpkin patch and dining at Jason’s Deli.
Ward-specific events such as Ward 4's Movie in the Park featuring "Coco" are also part of the lineup. Other activities include Halloween Nerf Mania for younger audiences and Hallo-Clean The Streets—a downtown cleanup effort.
The schedule concludes with several festivities on October 31: Stupak Trunk or Treat for ages 3-12 at Stupak Community Center and Halloween Safe Night Carnival at Doolittle Community Center offer safe environments for trick-or-treating.
These community-centered events aim to provide festive opportunities while promoting safety during the Halloween season.
