Las Vegas proposes new ordinance for industrial wastewater management

The city of Las Vegas is proposing a new ordinance related to industrial wastewater, which will soon be reviewed by the Las Vegas City Council. The proposal includes repealing and replacing LVMC Chapter 14.17, focusing on wastewater collection, pretreatment, and treatment. This ordinance aims to establish regulatory provisions that align with state and federal statutes and regulations concerning wastewater management.

Additionally, the city is considering a resolution to adopt an updated schedule of fees and charges for LVMC Chapter 14.17 regarding industrial wastewater.

Public comments, data, or arguments about the proposed resolution and its potential impact can be submitted via email, mail, or hand delivery from Monday through Thursday between 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Submissions should be directed to:

To ensure consideration by the city council, comments on the proposed resolution must be received by 5 p.m. on September 30, 2024. Comments on the proposed ordinance must be received by no later than 5 p.m. on October 3, 2024.
