The third annual HONOR Latino Awards will recognize the achievements of community leaders and trailblazers who have made significant civic contributions to the Las Vegas community. Nominations for these awards will open soon, with winners announced at a later date.
The award categories are as follows:
1. Emerging Leader Award
This award honors an up-and-coming leader who has demonstrated substantial potential for innovation, creativity, vision, and positive influence. Latino youth, student athletes, and adults who have shown impressive promise and exceptional leadership abilities in a new focus area or endeavor are eligible for nomination.
2. Advancing Arts & Culture Award
This award recognizes a Las Vegas community member dedicated to advancing Latino arts and culture. Nominees should have a history of increasing awareness and access to Latino arts and culture, and be passionate about enhancing relevant programming. Artists, art activists, gallery owners, art organizations, and other individuals involved with arts and culture are eligible.
3. Business and Economic Advancement Award
This award honors a local business professional who has displayed entrepreneurial character, high standards, innovative professional practice, and ongoing support of the Latino community. Local business owners or businesses that have positively impacted the Latino community are eligible for nomination.
4. Advancing Equity in Health Care Award
This award recognizes a healthcare provider, first responder or health care advocate who exemplifies courage, empathy, and leadership through their dedication to community health and health care equity. All healthcare providers advancing health care equity within the Latino community are eligible.
5. Spiritual Community Trailblazer Award
This award honors a spiritual leader with a legacy of promoting spiritual growth through inspired action and visionary leadership within the Latino community of Las Vegas. Leaders of spiritual organization services supporting the Latino community are eligible for nomination.
6. Educating Our Community Trailblazer Award
This award recognizes a Latino educator dedicated to mentoring and supporting Las Vegas students to achieve their full potential. It is open to all educator roles in the greater Las Vegas area including teachers, instructors, and administrators who exemplify excellence in education.
7. Outstanding Leadership Trailblazer Award
This award honors a community member with a history of impactful service to the Las Vegas Latino community. Nominees should lead by example, empower others enthusiastically, and demonstrate dedication to working alongside the Latino community.
