The undergraduate student government at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) that represents the students and aims to create a memorable college experience has wrapped up its 51st term.

According to a news release shared by UNLV, the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (CSUN) President Caren Royce Yap looked back at their time with the organization and what was in store for their future.

According to 51st Student Body President Yap: “Now that the year has come to a close, I'm off studying abroad in Italy this summer followed by my Public Policy and International Affairs fellowship at the University of Minnesota addressing the lack of diversity across public service sectors! Then, I'll be living it up in Washington D.C. working for AAPI communities along with working for Nevada assemblywoman Brittney Miller during the 2023 legislative session. I'm graduating in spring 2023 with a double major, double minor and honors.”

UNLV reported that during their tenure Yap had to help students navigate the COVID-19 pandemic by offering the latest news on and off campus.

“After pursuing graduate school, I hope to end up advocating for education (especially higher education), the AAPI community and climate change using public policy,” she said. “Ultimately, my professional end goal isn't necessarily a position or place, but just a person hoping to contribute to the greater good!”
