Clark City issued the following announcement.
Clark County and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will co-host a fourth annual 1 October Sunrise Remembrance ceremony at 7 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 1 at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater in downtown Las Vegas.
The event will feature live music, the Southern Nevada Multiagency Honor Guard, a minute of silence for those lost at the October 1, 2017, shooting on the Las Vegas Strip, and remarks from Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Joe Lombardo, Clark County Commission Chairman Marilyn Kirkpatrick and Dee Ann Hyatt, sister of Kurt von Tillow, one of the 58 who perished on 1 Oct. 2017 (two others perished from their injuries since then). Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs since limited seating will be available.
The music will be performed by Matt Sky, who worked with Adam Levine on NBC’s, “The Voice,” Season 5. Sky will sing “Four Years After,” composed and released by Mark R. “Four Years After” reflects on what transpired on October 1, 2017, and serves as a reminder that it remains the largest mass shooting in American history, Johnson said. “Those that survived have made great strides to move forward but it is clear that the physical and mental anguish will not easily dissipate,” he said.
Clark County and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are co-hosting the event with the Clark County Fire Department and the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center.
The Sunrise Remembrance will be aired live on Clark County Television (CCTV) and possibly local news media television stations and websites. The ceremony will be carried live at www.Facebook.com/ClarkCountyNV, https://www.youtube.com/user/ClarkCountyNV/live and www.Twitter.com/ClarkCountyNV. CCTV is available in the Las Vegas area on Channel 4/1004 on Cox cable and on CenturyLink on Channels 4 and 1004 as well as in Laughlin on Channel 14 via Suddenlink. CCTV is also available in Boulder City on Channel 4 and in Moapa Valley on Digital Channel 50.3. One also may watch on streaming devices such as Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV via the YouTube app.

Headsets will be available for those who would like to listen to a live translation of the event into Spanish. Additionally, for CCTV viewers, the ceremonies will be closed captioned in Spanish.
“So Cal Route 91 Heals” invites California survivors and community members to join locally in Ventura County from 7 to 9:30 a.m. for a live-streamed viewing of the Sunrise Remembrance ceremony. Additionally, survivors and community members are invited to connect with peers, create messages of hope through art, and honor the lives taken with a moment of silence and reading of their names at the Conejo Creek Park North Lakeside Pavilion in Thousand Oaks from 2 to 6 p.m. Registration links and details can be found at www.giveanhour.org/route91.
Clark County will host a 1 October Anniversary Exhibit from Monday, Sept. 27 through Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Rotunda Gallery, located on the first floor of the Clark County Government Center, which is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Rotunda will be open on Friday, Oct. 1 until noon. Staff from the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center and the 1 October Memorial Committee will be present in the Rotunda following the remembrance ceremony. The exhibit, organized by Clark County’s Parks and Recreation Department, will feature a display of quilts donated to the Resiliency Center for this year’s quilt raffle for 1 October survivors, family members who lost loved ones and first responders. There will be a display to inform the public of the ongoing work of Clark County’s 1 October Memorial Committee, which was established by the Clark County Commission to gather input to build a permanent that remembers those who perished in the attack, honors survivors, first responders and all those affected by the incident, and celebrates the resiliency of our community. The Art of Healing Murals created by local artists to commemorate the first anniversary of 1 October also will be on display in addition to the Angels of Love exhibit, which contains glass angels in remembrance of the lives lost and the hundreds of people wounded as well as memorabilia to honor law enforcement and agencies that responded to the attack. The exhibit was given to Clark County by the Angels of Love organization of Orange County, Calif., for the first anniversary of the Route 91 shooting.
This Sunrise Remembrance is one of several #VegasStronger activities being held this year to honor victims and survivors of the attack and to highlight the community’s unity and strength in the aftermath of 1 October.
