Clark City issued the following announcement.
County Commissioner Justin Jones turned on a new traffic signal at the intersection of Durango Drive and Gomer Road in the southwest valley this morning.
“This intersection is right next to an elementary school in a heavily residential area that has seen tremendous growth,” Commissioner Jones said. “The new signal will make this area safer for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians, especially the many students who need to cross this intersection to get to school.”
The intersection is near Wright Elementary School, and is in Commission District F, which is represented by Commissioner Jones.
On an average day, about 15,000 vehicles pass through this intersection.
