The city of Las Vegas issued a request for proposals (RFP) regarding a project for a new African American museum.
The RFP can be found on ngemnv.com, according to a June 6 press release. Interested parties can submit detailed documents for construction of the museum, as well as a cultural arts center on the city’s westside.
“This request for proposals is the next step in our plans to improve and redevelop the historic Westside,” said Ward 5 Councilman, Cedric Crear. “A museum and another cultural arts center will provide additional jobs and lead to increased tourism and business opportunities – and more prosperity for our residents.”
Proposals will be accepted until July 7 with the museum and arts center expected to be the first phase of the city’s ‘Hundred Plan in Action,’ according to the release.
Architects with knowledge of the development and implementation of museums are encouraged to apply to craft a comprehensive plan for the project, the release stated.
Proposal requests must show collaboration with all interested parties and shareholders to move the project closer from conception to construction, according to the release.
