University of Reno’s head diving coach, Jian Li You, was recently named the 2022 Mountain West Diving Coach of the Year, her seventh time winning the award.
The Mountain West Conference announced You as its 2022 Diving Coach of the Year April 14, according to a university press release.
In addition to winning the award more than a half-dozen times, You has also won 10 conference Dive Coach of the Year awards the Coach of the Year award six years in a row since Nevada began competing in the Mountain West, according to Nevada Today.
"We are so proud to have Jianli You on staff with us here at Nevada," Nevada head coach Brendon Bray said. "Our diving program is great every year, but this year was especially special after she was the first in the history of the Mountain West to qualify five divers into the championship final of the 1-meter. She is a wonderful person and cares deeply for our team and is one of the best coaches in the world. Congratulations to Jianli and Go Pack!"
You is considered one of the top diving coaches in the country and has made Nevada one of the top diving schools in the region, the release stated.
