U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) recently visited Allegiant Stadium to discuss efforts to strengthen Nevada's tourism industry.

Rosen was accompanied by Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft, Chief Operations and Analytics Officer for the Las Vegas Raiders Jeremy Aguero and President and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Steve Hill, according to a release from her office.

"Tourism is the driving force of our state’s economy, and Allegiant Stadium is already proving to be a major driver for the tourism comeback in Southern Nevada," Rosen said, according to the release. "I was glad to visit Allegiant Stadium with leaders from the Raiders and LVCVA, as well as Commissioner Naft, to talk about the stadium’s success, the industry’s recovery efforts, and how the federal government can help restore travel and tourism and create more good-paying jobs."

Last month, the Senate Commerce Committee advanced the senator's Omnibus Travel and Tourism Actwith unanimous support.

Allegiant Stadium has been selected to host Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. The stadium will also be the site of the NFL Pro Bowl next month and the city of Las Vegas will host this year’s NFL Draft.

Nevada's tourism sector employs approximately 350,000 Nevadans. As a result of various impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic visitor numbers are down 7.6% and hotel room occupancy is down 8.4% compared to pre-pandemic numbers and the state's unemployment rate is among the worst in the nation.
