"'The deadly December 21, 2019 fire at the Alpine Motel Apartments in downtown Las Vegas was a horrific accident,'" Vegas Legal Magazine tweeted Nov. 21, quoting Mark Fierro from an article he authored in their publication.
Those listed as responsible for the fire in the 22-page lawsuit include EDS Electronics Inc., the company tasked with monitoring the Alpine's fire alarm system; The City of Las Vegas; an on-site live-in Alpine Motel employee; and the resident living in the unit where the fire started.
"This lawsuit is directed at those who are more directly responsible due to their own contractual breaches," the document said, according to KSNV.
