The 18b Las Vegas Arts District has seen a significant development with the relocation of Esther's Kitchen, a well-regarded dining establishment in downtown Las Vegas. The restaurant, founded in 2018 by chef James Trees, a local and James Beard Award finalist, had become a popular spot by 2023.

Originally seating just 58 patrons, the demand for reservations at Esther's Kitchen was high, surpassing even some renowned international restaurants on the Strip. In response to its growing popularity, Trees announced in 2022 plans to move to a larger venue while remaining within the Arts District. The new location is situated at the corner of Main Street and California Avenue.

The newly opened $7 million facility officially began operations on March 8, 2024. It spans 11,000 square feet—five times larger than its predecessor—and offers seating for 160 guests in the dining area and an additional 27 seats in a standalone bar. The kitchen itself has doubled in size compared to the original.

Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman recently honored Chef Trees with a special presentation recognizing his significant contributions to both the Las Vegas community and the revitalization efforts within downtown Las Vegas, particularly in the Arts District.
