The Historic Westside of Las Vegas is set to see a new development with the introduction of The Good Word Market Hall. This project aims to provide a gathering space, support for small businesses, and contribute to the economic growth of one of the city’s culturally significant neighborhoods.

Located at D Street and Madison Avenue, The Good Word Market Hall will be the first venue of its kind in the area. It will combine dining, entertainment, and community-focused activities in an environment designed to reflect both the neighborhood’s history and its future direction.

The facility will include 8,997 square feet of interior space, a 2,400-square-foot mezzanine on the second floor, and four stalls dedicated to incubating small businesses. Funding for the $8.7 million project comes from the Redevelopment Agency and Neighborhood Services Choice Communities funding.

Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2026. Work on tenant improvements is expected around June 2026, with completion anticipated by October 2026. The Certificate of Occupancy is planned for November 2026 or earlier.

According to city officials: “Redevelopment in the Historic Westside is about more than new construction. It is about reinvesting in a neighborhood with deep cultural roots while creating space for opportunity, connection and economic growth.” They added: “Projects like The Good Word Market Hall help activate underused land, support local entrepreneurs and establish welcoming places where the community can come together.”

The city has outlined strategic priorities focused on public safety, healthcare, and economic diversification as part of its efforts to foster an inclusive community (https://limpar.locallabs.com/organizations/1e50db04-1e27-4ef7-8d7d-9eb93abe7c9c). As part of these initiatives, Las Vegas provides governance, community planning, and economic development services (https://limpar.locallabs.com/organizations/1e50db04-1e27-4ef7-8d7d-9eb93abe7c9c).

City leaders emphasize that by prioritizing small business incubation and shared spaces for local vendors and residents alike, projects such as this are intended to strengthen both social ties and economic stability while respecting historical legacy.

“As the project moves toward construction,” officials stated, “The Good Word Market Hall stands as a clear example of how intentional redevelopment can create lasting benefits when community remains at the center.”

Las Vegas operates under a council-manager government structure with an elected mayor and city council (https://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Government/Mayor-City-Council), serving as a municipal government entity (https://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Government/Mayor-City-Council).
