A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision with a vehicle at the intersection of East Viking Road and South Pacific Street on March 11, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety for motorcyclists and drivers in the area. According to police, the crash occurred around 1:53 p.m. when a 2018 Harley Davidson Fat Boy was traveling west on East Viking Road. A 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, heading eastbound, made a northbound left turn into the path of the motorcycle. The Harley Davidson struck the passenger side of the Chevrolet, causing the rider to be thrown from his motorcycle toward the northwest corner of the intersection.

Medical personnel transported the motorcyclist, a 64-year-old male from Las Vegas, to Sunrise Hospital where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening. The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox, identified as Kenneth Stiegler, age 34 and also from Las Vegas, sustained minor injuries. Police said Stiegler remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators; no signs of impairment were observed.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section is continuing its investigation into this incident.

This case underscores ongoing efforts by local authorities to address traffic safety and investigate serious collisions involving motorcycles.
