Cannabis, or marijuana, consumption lounges have been approved in the city of Las Vegas.

Here are some important things to know.

  • Lounges have to be at least 1,500 feet from a casino and 1,000 feet from each other. HOWEVER: A lounge/owner can request that the City Council allows it to be closer than 1000 feet to another lounge unless it is near certain types of businesses like casinos, schools, medical facilities, etc.
  • Alcohol will not be allowed and all smoking/vaping and consumption must happen inside unless there is special approval for outdoor smoking and vaping  or outdoor consumption of edibles .

15 licenses were issued for applicants who will operate within city limits. Clark County, the city of Las Vegas, Washoe County, Storey County and Nye County are the only local governments that are working on approval processes right now in the State of Nevada.

As a reminder, while marijuana is legal in Nevada, is it only legal if you are 21+ and smoking in a private residence. Public consumption of marijuana is prohibited but will be allowed in these lounges. Driving while impaired is illegal.
