The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced on Mar. 10 that a multiple vehicle collision at the intersection of East Pebble Road and Pollock Drive resulted in a delayed traffic-related fatality, marking the 27th fatality for the year 2026.
The incident occurred on January 24, 2026, at approximately 11:33 a.m. According to evidence from the scene, video footage, and witness statements, a 2003 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on Pebble Road when it entered the intersection against a red traffic signal and struck a northbound 2012 Dodge Challenger. The impact redirected both vehicles eastward. The Ford then collided with the left rear of a stationary 2013 Chevrolet Traverse before coming to rest after hitting a tree and light pole.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, identified as Luis Flores, age 68 of Las Vegas, sustained substantial injuries and was transported to Sunrise Hospital. At the time of his admission, his injuries did not meet criteria for an immediate Collision Investigation Section response. However, on January 30, authorities were notified by the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner that Flores had succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving efforts and was pronounced deceased at 8:02 a.m.
Other individuals involved included Jason Mayotte-Blum, age 46 (driver of the Dodge Challenger), who claimed minor injuries; Kathleen Boulter, age 77 (driver of the Chevrolet Traverse), who also claimed minor injuries; and Albert Boulter, age 87 (passenger in the Chevrolet Traverse), who reported no injuries.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section continues to investigate this incident.
