The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced on March 10 that a multiple vehicle collision at the intersection of East Pebble Road and Pollock Drive has resulted in a delayed traffic-related fatality, marking the 27th fatality for the year 2026.

The incident is significant as it highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and traffic signal compliance in the area. The crash involved three vehicles and led to one death after several weeks of medical care.

According to police, the collision occurred on January 24 at approximately 11:33 a.m. when a 2003 Ford Explorer traveling eastbound on Pebble Road entered the intersection against a red light and struck a northbound 2012 Dodge Challenger. The impact redirected both vehicles eastward, with the Ford then striking a stationary 2013 Chevrolet Traverse before coming to rest after hitting a tree and light pole. The driver of the Ford, identified as Luis Flores, age 68, sustained substantial injuries and was transported to Sunrise Hospital. At that time, his injuries did not meet criteria for an immediate Collision Investigation Section response.

A representative from the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner later informed police that Flores succumbed to his injuries despite all life-saving measures. He was pronounced deceased on January 30 at Sunrise Hospital. The drivers of the other two vehicles, Jason Mayotte-Blum (46) and Kathleen Boulter (77), reported minor injuries; Boulter’s passenger was uninjured.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said that this collision remains under investigation by its Collision Investigation Section.
