Las Vegas police investigate fatal shooting of woman and toddler

On the evening of March 2, 2026, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers were conducting a vehicle stop near Starr Avenue and Interstate 15 when they heard gunfire nearby. At the same time, LVMPD Communications received several reports of gunshots in the area.

Officers searched the surrounding neighborhoods and found a vehicle with multiple bullet holes in the 11000 block of Victoria Medici Street. Inside the vehicle, police discovered a woman and a toddler who had both suffered gunshot wounds. Medical personnel transported both victims to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The LVMPD Homicide Section responded to the scene and has opened an investigation into the incident. The names of those who died, as well as information about how they died, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
