Las Vegas police investigate fatal shooting at house party on Brookhaven Drive

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced on March 12 that a homicide investigation is underway following a fatal shooting at a house party in the 4300 block of Brookhaven Drive.

Police said they received several reports of gunfire at approximately 1:32 a.m. The call was soon updated to indicate that someone had been shot. When patrol officers arrived, they found a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. Medical personnel transported the victim to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to detectives, the victim had attended a house party in the area and walked outside, where he was approached by a group of individuals. After a brief verbal exchange, shots were fired and the victim was struck.

The identification of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be provided by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Section is leading the investigation.
