The city of Las Vegas is continuing its efforts to support local businesses and improve commercial properties in its Redevelopment Areas through the Commercial Visual Improvement Program (VIP). The grant program provides funds for exterior upgrades, including paint, signage, landscaping, facade repairs, and other physical improvements.
Recent recipients of the VIP grants include several businesses located throughout key districts in downtown Las Vegas. Electric Mushroom, a creative studio at 518 Fremont St., has received funding to enhance its space in the Fremont East Entertainment District. Viking Mike’s, a new bar at 1500 S. Main St. in the 18B Las Vegas Arts District, is using the grant to develop its unique atmosphere.
Other beneficiaries are Johnny COCO’s at 32 W. Imperial Ave., which will open as a cocktail bar in 2026; FBGM at 401 S. Sixth St., revitalizing a downtown area with a modern hospitality concept; and 1212 S. Casino Center LLC at 1212 S. Casino Center Blvd., transforming into a hub for creativity and commerce.
Additional recipients include Pachi Pachi (Pachinko Bar) at 211 S. Las Vegas Blvd., introducing Japanese arcade gaming to the local nightlife; The Dustland at 1433 S. Commerce St., an arts and entertainment venue; Able Baker Brewing at 1510 S. Main St., expanding its brewery operations; and The Doberman at 1025 S. First St., adding new energy to the downtown bar scene.
The city describes these grants as investments “directly in the people and ideas shaping its future.” According to officials, these initiatives aim to foster economic development by supporting small businesses and enhancing public spaces within redevelopment zones.
