Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, used her social media platform on January 15, 2026, to address a range of policy issues including arms control, education, and healthcare.
In her first post of the day, Titus urged President Biden to act on nuclear arms control. On January 15, she wrote: “.@POTUS must renew the last remaining U.S.-Russia arms control agreement which expires in under three weeks. Not extending the New START Treaty could result in a catastrophic international nuclear arms race.”
Later that afternoon, Titus criticized recent administrative changes affecting federal education agencies. In a tweet posted at 19:49 UTC on January 15, she stated: “Shuffling around parts of @usedgov does nothing to help students in need. @POTUS is overburdening other agencies, cutting resources for college students, and taking a sledgehammer to our education system.”
Titus also commented on healthcare access as the Affordable Care Act enrollment deadline approached. At 21:34 UTC on January 15 she posted: “Today’s the last day to sign up for the Affordable Care Act. If you see higher costs, you can blame Republicans for their Big, BS Budget.”
Titus has served as a member of Congress since replacing Shelley Berkley in 2013 and previously represented Nevada in the state senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently residing in Las Vegas, Titus graduated from the College of William & Mary with a BA in 1970.
