Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, addressed a range of topics in a series of posts on January 6, 2026.
In her first post, Titus reflected on the anniversary of the January 6th attack on the Capitol. She wrote, “5 years ago, @POTUS spurred an insurrection at the Capitol with baseless claims of a rigged election. The attack on January 6th was a dark day for our country, for our brave Capitol police, and for our rule of law. May we never repeat such a despicable assault on our democracy.” (January 6, 2026)
Later that day, Titus commented on gambling tax policy following a discussion with poker player Erik Seidel. She stated, “I spoke with poker legend @Erik_Seidel about the negative impact of leaving the tax deduction for gambling losses at 90%. Despite what some of my colleagues like @SenatorLankford believe, inaction will have serious, concrete consequences on the gaming industry and economy across” (January 6, 2026).
Titus also congratulated Michael Naft on his appointment as Chairman of the Clark County Commission. In her message she said: “Congratulations, @CommishNaft on this well-deserved appointment as Chairman of the @ClarkCountyNV Commission. Your leadership has made Southern Nevada a better place to call home by improving our roadways, advocating for pedestrian safety, and promoting travel and tourism to our” (January 6, 2026).
Titus has represented Nevada’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Shelley Berkley in 2013 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently residing in Las Vegas at age 72, Titus is also an alumna of the College of William & Mary.
