Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, highlighted her recent efforts to support small businesses and community events in a series of social media posts on November 30, 2025.
In one post from that day, Titus described her participation in local business activities: “Today was a day to “shop small” #OnlyinDistrictOne, supporting small businesses that are the lifeblood of our local economy. I visited @TheBoulevardLV in the heart of my district and spoke with Peter Guzman @lvlcc, Saul Ramos @SBA_Nevada and business owner Martha Ramos-Alvarado.” The tweet underscored her engagement with local entrepreneurs and organizations central to economic development.
Later the same day, Titus shared another update focused on Henderson’s Water Street District: “.@WaterStDistrict brought out hundreds of Henderson residents to support small businesses — a major part of the city’s thriving economy, creating jobs throughout the community. Thank you #CLSheldonBooks, #KelleysHandmadeCrochetCreations, #BellePorteDesigns, and #Popalliciouslv.” The message thanked several specific businesses for their contributions.
Titus also commented on a sports rivalry involving the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), writing: “Sorry @MarkAmodeiNV2, but the #Rebels get to keep the cannon! See the mini version in our office. @UNLV @UNLVFootball” This reference relates to an ongoing tradition between UNLV and its rival schools regarding possession of a symbolic cannon.
Titus has represented Nevada’s 1st Congressional District since replacing Shelley Berkley in 2013. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the Nevada Senate from 1988 until 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and now residing in Las Vegas at age 72, Titus earned her undergraduate degree from College of William & Mary in 1970.
