Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, posted several updates on her Twitter account this week highlighting legislative achievements and honoring public service workers.
On May 7, Titus announced a recent legislative milestone: “Last week my provision to deliver a pay increase for air traffic controllers was signed into law. This will ease financial stress for them and improve retention in the profession. I urge the @FAANews to implement this policy as soon as possible. @NATCA”. The statement underscores her advocacy for air traffic controllers and calls for swift implementation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The following day, May 8, she recognized World Red Cross Day with a message of gratitude: “Today is World Red Cross Day. We honor the volunteers, donors, and dedicated staff who support this vital organization and its lifesaving work.”
Later on May 8, Titus addressed federal workforce issues during Public Service Recognition Week: “As @POTUS attacks federal workers, I am honoring #PublicServiceRecognitionWeek by taking a moment to thank our front-line workers who serve and protect us every day. As a member of the @Labor_Caucus, I helped pass the Protect America’s Workforce Act which would restore the”.
Titus has served in Congress since replacing Shelley Berkley in 2013 and previously held office in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950, she resides in Las Vegas and holds a BA from the College of William & Mary.
