Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, announced recent legislative developments and commented on economic issues in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On December 15, Titus shared news regarding the passage of her bill in the House: “Big news for Southern Nevada: My Sloan Canyon Conservation and Lateral Pipeline Act just passed in the House! This legislation will help address our decreasing water supply #OnlyinDistrictOne while also preserving our special landscapes. @SNWA_H2O”
The following day, she addressed another legislative priority, stating “As we approach the end of the year, I want to talk about the urgency of passing my FAIR BET Act. #TitusTalk” on December 16.
Later that same day, Titus discussed current economic conditions: “The unemployment rate is at its highest in over four years, and the #TrumpSlump is hurting people’s lives and livelihoods. Yet @POTUS and the Republican-controlled Congress refuse to admit we have an economic crisis nor address affordability concerns.”
Titus has represented Nevada’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Shelley Berkley in 2013. Before her tenure in Congress, she served as a member of the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950, Titus currently resides in Las Vegas. She holds a BA from the College of William & Mary.
