Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, used her Twitter account this week to highlight legislative efforts and express concerns about national economic issues.

On May 16, Titus posted about her recent activities in Washington, D.C., writing, “It was a productive week in Washington working hard to deliver results #OnlyInDistrictOne. Thank you for stopping by @supplychainfed, @OneAPIANevada, @OrderOfAHEPA, @NationalACE, and @OurCommons.”

Later that day, she commented on the rising cost of living in the United States. On May 16 she stated: “Americans are struggling to afford groceries and gas, but @POTUS won’t commit to helping bring down prices. Shameful.”

Titus also addressed labor issues on National Waiter Day with a post advocating for improved wages and protections for service workers. On May 16 she wrote: “This National Waiter Day, I am fighting for fair wages and protections for both tipped and non-tipped workers. I introduced my LIFT Act that would raise the minimum wage and give real tax relief on tips so these professional can make a living wage. #OnlyInDistrictOne”

Titus has represented Nevada’s 1st District in Congress since succeeding Shelley Berkley in 2013. She previously served in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950, Titus is currently based in Las Vegas and holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary.
