Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, recently addressed several policy priorities and upcoming events through her official social media account.
On February 12, 2026, Titus highlighted the importance of environmental measures in future transportation legislation, stating, “The next surface transportation reauthorization bill must continue the effort to decarbonize the transportation sector which accounts for 29% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. Smart investments in EV chargers, clean school buses, and active transportation infrastructure will”.
A day later, on February 13, she posted about her commitment to animal welfare issues: “I am proud to have received 100% on my annual @humaneactfund scorecard. I will continue fighting for legislation to prevent horse slaughter, protect endangered species, and stop testing on monkeys. The humane treatment of animals is not just the responsible thing to do, it is”.
Later that same day, Titus announced an upcoming public event: “Next week, I am hosting a Town Hall to discuss updates from DC and #OnlyInDistrictOne. RSVP below.”
Titus has represented Nevada’s 1st District in Congress since succeeding Shelley Berkley in 2013. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently residing in Las Vegas at age 72, Titus holds a BA from the College of William & Mary.
