Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, expressed concern over recent political developments in a series of posts on November 6, 2025.

In her first post of the day, Titus voiced opposition to a federal nomination: “I am alarmed by the nomination of Steve Pearce to lead @BLMNational given his past support of efforts to cut national monuments. Any nominee must give reassurances that they will be responsible stewards of these special places. @EnergyDems” (November 6, 2025). Titus highlighted the need for nominees to commit to protecting public lands and monuments.

Later that evening, she addressed state-level fiscal policy regarding hunger relief in Nevada: “I have agreed with @NVTreasurer all along that more rainy day funds should be used to feed hungry Nevadans, and I’m happy to see @NVSenateDems are following his advice and will be making the push during special session. The resources are there. Let’s get this done.” (November 6, 2025). In this message, Titus supported using emergency funds for food security initiatives.

Titus also commented on national security issues later that night: “And so it begins…. Trump has unwittingly launched a global nuclear arms race by announcing the resumption of explosive nuclear testing in the United States. The House must pass my RESTRAIN Act to prevent the worst possible outcome.” (November 6, 2025).

Titus has served in Congress since replacing Shelley Berkley in 2013 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. She was born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently resides in Las Vegas. Her background includes a BA from the College of William & Mary.
