Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, has recently addressed issues ranging from federal tax policy to labor negotiations and educational opportunities in a series of posts on her official social media account.
On April 13, 2026, Titus commented on President Biden’s proposed policy affecting tipped workers, stating: “.@POTUS’s “No Tax on Tips” policy is severely limited and sunsets in 2028. We must make it permanent and increase the minimum wage to support our non-tipped workers like childcare, fast food, and retail. We can do both by passing my LIFT Act.”
Later that day, she expressed support for local union members with the post: “Today I stood in solidarity with @IBT631 as they fight to protect their health care, retirement benefits, and fair pay. @Quikrete must come to table and negotiate in good faith.” The message underscored ongoing labor negotiations involving Teamsters Local 631 and Quikrete.
On April 14, Titus shared an update regarding youth engagement with military academies: “This weekend #TeamTitus attended Southern Nevada’s Academy Day encouraging students to explore educational opportunities at the Academies and a future career in the armed forces. @ClarkCountySch”
Titus replaced Shelley Berkley in Congress after the 2012 election. Before her tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, she served in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Titus was born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently resides in Las Vegas. She graduated from the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970.
