Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, posted a series of messages on social media addressing regional water negotiations, school safety, and the tourism industry in Las Vegas.

On December 17, 2025, Titus urged cooperation among state leaders meeting in Las Vegas to address water management issues affecting the Colorado River. She wrote, “As negotiators convene in Las Vegas this week, I encourage Upper Basin and Lower Basin leaders to work together on a seven-state agreement for the future of the Colorado River. The longer we wait to find solutions, the worse our water crisis will be.”

Later that day, Titus highlighted new legislative efforts aimed at student safety. In her post dated December 17, 2025, she stated, “No student should fear for their safety on the way to school. That is why I am introducing the Protect Our Students Act to make funding available for safety improvements in school zones, like hiring crossing guards.”

On December 18, 2025, Titus turned attention to ticket agents and their impact on local tourism. She said, “Ticket agents facilitate half of all ticket sales across the country, and they play a critical role in Las Vegas’s tourism industry. My ACPAC Modernization Act, which just passed out of @TransportDems committee, will help @USDOT protect travelers’ interests by allowing greater”.

Titus has represented Nevada’s 1st Congressional District since replacing Shelley Berkley in 2013 and previously served two decades in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently residing in Las Vegas, she holds a BA from the College of William & Mary (Fact sources: [1](#), [2](#), [3](#), [4](#)).
