Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, addressed several legislative and policy issues in a series of tweets posted on December 17, 2025.
In her first post, Titus criticized the federal government’s approach to veteran health care under recent budgetary decisions: “The federal government should be supporting our veterans, as health care costs skyrocket thanks to Republican policies in the Big, BS Budget Bill. Instead @DeptVetAffairs is eliminating 25,000 health care positions who serve the veteran community. @POTUS and @SecVetAffairs are” (December 17, 2025).
Later that day, she acknowledged bipartisan efforts related to gambling legislation: “Thank you @RepAndyBarr for co-sponsoring the FAIR BET Act. With bipartisan support, we are one step closer to restoring the 100% tax deduction for gambling losses. It’s the right thing to do.” (December 17, 2025).
Titus also commented on developments regarding Affordable Care Act tax credits in Congress: “Well @SpeakerJohnson really painted himself into a corner. Despite his effort to prevent the extension of ACA tax credits, @RepJeffries’s discharge petition now has enough bipartisan support to force a House vote on a clean 3-year extension. @HouseDemocrats are leading the charge https://t.co/Wn1S8e0r19” (December 17, 2025).
Dina Titus has represented Nevada’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Shelley Berkley in 2013 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently residing in Las Vegas, Titus holds a BA from College of William & Mary.
