Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, has recently used her social media platform to address local community engagement and public safety concerns in Nevada.
On November 16, 2025, Titus invited constituents to participate in a community event, posting: “Join me tonight for a community town hall. https://t.co/si8IEzaiOq”.
Later that day, she raised questions about the actions of state officials regarding workplace safety and accountability. In her post from November 16, 2025, Titus wrote: “We need to know why @JosephMLombardo’s administration dropped an investigation and $400,000 in fines against @boringcompany after two firefighters suffered chemical burns in a training exercise.
Furthermore, I am calling for public hearings so they can explain why drilling https://t.co/oL1SSzpAYd“.
Continuing her focus on local issues the following day, November 17, 2025, Titus reflected on discussions with state leaders about economic challenges facing residents. She stated: “It was a pleasure speaking with @NVTreasurer Zach Conine and @CommishNaft during yesterday’s town hall to address Nevada’s affordability crisis.
Together, we can craft policy at the federal, state, and local levels that protects our lives and livelihoods #OnlyinDistrictOne. https://t.co/cIXs3NpFxc“.
Titus has been active in public service for decades; before joining Congress in 2013—succeeding Shelley Berkley—she served in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently residing in Las Vegas at age 72, Titus holds a BA from the College of William & Mary (1970).
