Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, addressed a range of policy issues in a series of tweets posted on May 7, 2026.

In her first post, Titus advocated for the protection of access to mifepristone, a medication approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for over 25 years. She stated, “Healthcare decisions should not be made by judges or politicians. They should be made by you! #Mifepristone has been @US_FDA approved for 25+ years. I am joining @ReproCaucus urging #SCOTUS to protect access to this safe, effective medication.” The statement comes as the Supreme Court considers cases that could impact reproductive healthcare options nationwide.

Later that day, Titus turned her attention to nursing education and policy under the Trump Administration. She wrote on May 7, “We should be encouraging young adults to pursue a nursing career, not stopping them. That is why I have urged the Trump Administration to reverse course and categorize all post-Baccalaureate nursing degrees as “professional degrees.” This will ensure that nursing students have”—calling for changes that would recognize advanced nursing degrees appropriately and potentially expand support for students in these programs.

In another tweet recognizing Teacher Appreciation Week on May 7, Titus expressed gratitude toward educators in her district: “Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to the dedicated educators #OnlyInDistrictOne! I am working hard to deliver the resources you need. @ClarkCountySch”

Titus has represented Nevada’s 1st District since replacing Shelley Berkley in Congress in 2013 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 1988 to 2008. Born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and now residing in Las Vegas at age 72, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William & Mary.
