Dina Titus, U.S. Congresswoman representing Nevada’s 1st district since 2013, has used her social media platform to address issues ranging from water negotiations in the West to community celebrations and national holidays.
On February 15, 2026, Titus emphasized the importance of state-level agreements regarding the Colorado River, stating, “This is why I have been repeatedly calling on state negotiators to reach an agreement on the future of the Colorado River. Water is everything #OnlyinDistrictOne, and these decisions should not be left to @POTUS. @usbr”. The management of the Colorado River has long been a contentious issue among western states due to its critical role in providing water for agriculture, cities, and industry.
Later that day, Titus highlighted local observances of Black History Month by sharing details about a community event: “#TeamTitus celebrated #BlackHistoryMonth @SpringsPreserve with delicious food, arts & crafts, educational activities, and great live entertainment!” (February 15, 2026).
On Presidents’ Day (February 16, 2026), she posted a message honoring American leaders: “Happy Presidents’ Day! Today we honor the leadership and service of those who have guided our nation. We must continue their mission to achieve a more just and perfect union.”
Titus was born in Thomasville, Georgia in 1950 and currently resides in Las Vegas. She earned her BA from the College of William & Mary in 1970. Before joining Congress in 2013—succeeding Shelley Berkley—she served two decades in the Nevada Senate.
