Faith Lutheran High School Head Football Coach Mike Sanford is scheduled to be recognized as the city of Las Vegas Citizen of the Month at the Sept. 7, 2022, City Council meeting. The City Council meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.

Sanford was named head coach at Faith Lutheran High School in 2021. Previously, Sanford was head coach at UNLV and Indiana State and was an assistant at Purdue, USC, Notre Dame, Utah and the San Diego Chargers. This season, Coach Stanford has led the Crusaders to a record of 3-0.

In addition, Ward 2 Councilwoman Victoria Seaman will recognize the Foundation for Recovery, a statewide nonprofit that offers treatment for mental health and substance abuse disorders. The organization is made up of staff and volunteers who support people and families that are struggling, as they work to create a sense of community among those with shared experiences. The Foundation for Recovery focuses on people’s strengths, not their illness.

The meeting will be broadcast live on KCLV-TV Channel 2, the city’s government access television station, and at www.kclv.tv/live.

Public comment will be available for items on the agenda until 5 p.m. Sept. 6, at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/councilcomment. Those wishing to comment on items on the council agenda are invited to do so online, or to attend the meeting in person and participate in the public comment periods.
